Order Forms: How-To

May 17th, 2012

This blog post may look familiar to you. But that’s because we are convinced that filling out an order form correctly can make YOU a happier customer! That’s right.

“How?” you might ask. Why, we would love to let you in on this little secret, because we LOVE happy customers!

Here’s the situation:

Ever notice your orders or quotes getting put on hold? Ever notice getting emails or comments from Edigitize asking for clarification on your artwork? Whether you realize it or not, leaving out important instructions when placing an order or quote actually prolongs the amount of time before it is finished. Rather than guess what you are wanting the finished product to look like, we opt to place your quote or order on hold and seek further instruction from you, our customers! However, all of this can be avoided, and the overall turnaround time significantly reduced, when you choose to read over our order form carefully and are sure to tell us EXACTLY how you want the final product to look!

It really is this simple:

On this order, one of our customers, Betty Cadle, gave Edigitize specific instructions regarding the design elements she wanted stitched. What I mean by this is, Betty specifically mentioned each design element and the colors she wanted. She mentioned the house & text “HomeFirst” as one color stop, the “1″ and text “Mortgage” as a second color stop, and the white in the windows and “1″ outline as the third color stop.

Had she not have mentioned the specific elements she wanted stitched, her order would have been placed On Hold and we would have had to seek further instruction from her, especially regarding whether the white in the design should be stitched or fabric showing through. Instead, our customer told us exactly how she wanted it, so that is how we were able to deliver it – exactly how she wanted it! Thanks, Betty!

Stay tuned for other great examples of how to fill out an order form correctly! And be sure to fill yours out right for a chance to have your order form featured as an example!

Edigitize Appreciates Teachers!

May 11th, 2012

In case you missed it, this week has been Teacher Appreciation Week. I don’t know about you, but my personal Facebook has been filled with pictures of gifts my teacher friends have received from their students as they express their heartfelt appreciation for what this week means. As far as the teachers I know now, as well as the ones I have been taught by in the past, I can definitely say that they wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing if it weren’t their passion. And that’s what is so great about this week, and teachers in general!

Though we are past our schooling days, we here at Edigitize appreciate teachers too – both our former teachers who have been instrumental in getting us to where we are today & all the others who have such a passion for what they do!

So thank you, teachers, for what you do! All of you!

But more specifically:

Kristin Lamb would like to thank: Mr. Cap, my high school history teacher, who was one of the more influential teachers throughout my life. I had a lot of great teachers/professors and mentors so it’s hard to narrow it down. Mr. Cap stands out because he cared enough to get to know his students. He never sugar-coated things either. I remember one time he sprung a pop-test on us. NOT a pop-quiz, but a pop-test. Many of the students started to freak out, but he just said: “Ten years from now, guess what? You’re going to be okay. You’re not going to remember this and you probably won’t even remember this class. If anything unexpected in your life scares you, just remember that EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY.”  I can tell you, any time things throw me for a loop… I remember Mr. Cap and his pop-test.  There’s no reason to freak out about bumps in the road. Tell yourself that everything is going to be okay and move on.

Kristen Wigner would like to thank: Ms. Williams, my 6th grade English teacher and sponsor of our middle school Junior Civitan club. She was an incredible woman who encouraged us to give back to our community. I really believe that it was because of her that I have a passion for the local community and love getting involved in events around me!

Kristin Anderson would like to thank: Mrs. Olson, my 7th-11th grade English teacher/Creative Writing teacher/Algebra II teacher. She taught me the art of good writing and instilled in me a love and appreciation for it that stays with me to this day. She challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and reach for the next level, both in my writing and in life. Ultimately, Mrs. Olson was a relatable teacher, could always make her students laugh, and still made sure her students always learned a lot and enjoyed doing it.

Scott Davis would like to thank: Dr. Vance, a college professor who challenged me to think critically. He expected the best from his students, always. And he delivered immense amounts of knowledge in his lectures, so you always walked away feeling like you were learning.

Jeff Foster would like to thank: Mrs. Segner, my German teacher in 10th, 11th, & 12th grades.  Mrs. Segner’s classes were always challenging, yet fun.  She cared for her students individually and made them feel special.  She was a very encouraging and inspirational person.  Every year there were always plenty of fun and crazy activities going on in her classes or on field trips.

So, THANK YOU, teachers, for all that you do! Know that you ARE making a difference in the lives of your students, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you!

Happy Mother’s Day!

As I’m sure you’re all well aware, Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday. Since we won’t get another chance to tell YOU all before then, everyone here at Edigitize would like to wish all the moms out there a wonderful Mother’s Day!

As for everyone else, be sure to make your moms feel extra special this weekend! Make them breakfast in bed, give them flowers…. just make sure the flowers don’t come from their own garden like this guy’s!
